Course Description
This presentation is a review of digital imaging systems. Topics include: digital image characteristics, digital image receptors, and digital image processing techniques.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this presentation, the audience will be able to:
- Explain digital characteristics of matrix and pixels
- Differentiate between computed radiography and digital radiography
- Recognize the difference between direct and indirect capture systems
- Explain pre-processing and post-processing functions
- Recognize image display processing functions

Speaker Bio
James S. Malone, M.H.Sc., R.T. (R)(CT)
James Malone is the program director for the Wallace State Community College Diagnostic Imaging program. He received his radiography certification from ARRT in 1994 and CT certification in 2004. He is an alumnus of Wallace State Community College, Florida Hospital of Health Sciences, and Nova-Southeastern University. He currently serves as the Executive Board Member for the ALSRT. He has also served as Member at Large and President of the ALSRT.
