Alabama Society of Radiologic Technologists
It's Time for Us to Be Seen
Greetings Colleagues!
Thank you for trusting me to serve as President for this great organization. As you know there are strength in numbers. My goal is to increase membership and volunteering for the ALSRT. There are eight benefits of joining or volunteering for the ALSRT.
The first benefit is Making a Difference. There are over 5,000 RT across the state of Alabama. You will have the opportunity to contribute to causes and initiatives that align with their values and passions. This will allow you to make a positive impact not only for your facility but for the Radiology Profession as well.
The second benefit is Personal Growth. You can develop new skills, gain experience, and broaden your horizons. It’s a chance to learn and grow as an individual. The ALSRT has several committees you can serve on.
The third benefit is Building Relationships. The ALSRT provides a sense of community. You can form meaningful connections with a diverse group of like-minded individuals, which can lead to lasting friendships and valuable networking opportunities.
The fourth benefit is Boosting Your Resume. The ALSRT can enhance your resume by showcasing your dedication, skills, and commitment to social causes, making you a more attractive candidate to future employers.
The fifth benefit is your Mental and Emotional Well-being. Helping others and being part of a larger purpose can reduce stress, increase happiness, and give you a sense of fulfillment.
The sixth benefit is Learning about Radiology Issues affecting the State of Alabama. You will be exposed to the various social issues and challenges our Profession is facing, providing more awareness.
The seventh benefit is the ability to Inspire Others. Your involvement can inspire other Radiology Technologists to act and make a difference, creating a ripple effect of positive change.
The eighth benefit is Learning Leadership Skills. The ALSRT has many opportunities for leadership roles. Taking on these roles can help develop leadership and management skills that are valuable in all aspects of life.
As you can see, joining or volunteering for the ALSRT can enrich your life in numerous ways, from personal growth and fulfillment to making a meaning impact on the Radiology Profession as a whole.
Get Involved!
Sincerely,
Lawrence McNair, Jr., MPH, R.T.(R)(MR)(CT)(ARRT)(MRSO)(MRSC)
